“Real transformation requires honesty. If you want to move forward, get real with yourself.”
Mara Richardson, LMSW. (She/ Her/ Hers)
I am so happy to be in this field to help others grow and challenge themselves. I believe in this quote above because we all must be honest with ourselves if we want to change. It brings me joy to watch my clients transform over the course of the sessions we had. I challenge my clients so that they can meet their full potential. I do this by paying attention to the goals that was discussed from the initial session. I challenge with empathy, compassion and understanding which is required to help my clients grow.
My clinical experience has been with adults in different settings such as inpatient and outpatient facilities. My focus has been with adults with substance use and mental health. I have some experience in working with couples in therapy as well. My main modalities that I utilize in sessions are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I have completed some training in trauma work. My therapeutic approach is solutions focused and client centered.
