“From horses, we may learn not only about the horse itself but also about animals in general, indeed about ourselves and about life as a whole.”
-George Gaylord Simpson
The Work
Dublin is a 29-year-old Morgan standing at 15 hands. He has been part of the Dun-Pikin family for quite some time but came to live at the farm full-time after his owner passed away. After working through grief and depression due to this loss, Dublin is, "glad to have companionship" and enjoys human interaction. Dublin has experienced thyroid issues and "struggles with keeping weight on," though he eats well and often "walks himself into the stall" when meals are being served. Dublin has made significant progress from mental and physical health issues and is ready to support the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy work! He loves connection, finds joy in work, and will "let you know where you stand with him."
Likes: eating hay, human connection, being of service.
Population: Kids and adults. Depressive disorders, Grief work, folks with chronic health issues description
