The Work
I am currently a graduate student at University of Maryland Baltimore School of Social. Work. My concentration of study in the field of Social Work is behavioral health. Social Work emphasizes a unique perspective to counseling; the person-in-environment model. This means that we look at the whole picture so-to-speak, understanding how we impact the environment around us, as well as how the environment affects us. In my approach, I try to approach problems wholistically. I value empathy, mindfulness, and positive regard. My previous experience has been working with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses in an outpatient setting.
