SHE/HER
Hi! My name is Veda, and I am a graduate-level Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern pursuing my Master’s degree at Johns Hopkins University. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) while integrating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches. I believe therapy is not about fixing people, it is about creating a space where individuals can better understand themselves, cultivate resilience, and move toward a life that feels authentic and meaningful.
My clinical interests include working with individuals experiencing substance use concerns, trauma, life transitions, stress, anxiety, and neurodevelopmental differences. Drawing from my background in neuroscience, I also have a particular interest in the intersection of brain health and mental health, including supporting older adults and individuals living with neurocognitive and neurodegenerative conditions while helping families navigate the emotional complexities that often accompany these experiences.
As an Indian international student, I deeply value the role that culture, identity, family, and community play in shaping our lives. I bring cultural humility into every therapeutic relationship and draw inspiration from both evidence-based psychological practices and the rich traditions of Eastern philosophy, particularly mindfulness, acceptance, and compassion. I strive to create a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
I provide therapy in English as well as several Indian languages, including Hindi and Marathi, allowing clients to express themselves in the language that feels most natural and comfortable.
Whether you are navigating difficult emotions, processing past experiences, or seeking personal growth, I hope to walk alongside you with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for your unique story.
“I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become.” — Carl Jung
