From the beginning of my education, through becoming a counselor, I have followed Brene Brown’s words of advice and encouragement. She is an author and amazing speaker. I listen to her TED talks, and she speaks about the roles shame and vulnerability serve in our lives. She empowers us to accept and break free from them, by becoming courageous and authentic. We are imperfect people, trying to make our way through the chaos life brings, so we get lost. I believe our mistakes are opportunities for learning and growth. We all have purpose, gifts to share, and positivity within in us. Every day is a gift and another chance to love yourself and others.
Grace means all of your mistakes now serve a purpose instead of serving shame. – Brene Brown

I’ve been to over 200 concerts, across several states, and my concert buddy is my 23-year-old son, I have a 10-year old rescue beagle hound named Lucy who is an “unofficial” therapy dog (she is often by my side during most sessions, mostly snoring), jellybeans is an essential food group, and Myrtle Beach is where I go to reboot.
