SHE/HER
Hello! I’m Mariah Colón, and I am a graduate student currently pursuing
my Master of Social Work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. I believe therapy should be a place where every part of you is welcome. My goal is to create a warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to explore your identity, relationships,
emotions, and lived experiences without judgment.
I am passionate about how culture, family, community, and systemic experiences can shape our mental health and sense of self. I enjoy working with children (ages 7+), adolescents, and young adults navigating life transitions, identity exploration, self-esteem, familial and relationship challenges, trauma, and the
impacts of generational patterns. I also have a growing interest in supporting couples and hope to expand my training in relationship and sex therapy throughout my career. My work is grounded in person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed care while drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), somatic approaches, feminist theory, and culturally responsive, community-informed practice. I
believe there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing and enjoy collaborating
with clients to discover what feels most meaningful and authentic to them.
“Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation.
Healing is an act of communion.” — Bell Hooks
