SHE/HER
Hi, I’m Sage Li, and I’m currently earning my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Johns Hopkins University. My work is grounded in an existential-humanistic approach while integrating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and other approaches tailored to each individual’s needs. I believe therapy is a space where people have the opportunity to better understand themselves, reconnect with who they truly are, and discover an authentic way of living while navigating the challenges and complexities of the world around them.
As a woman, someone with bicultural identities, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I value a social justice-oriented approach to counseling. I strive to bring cultural humility, openness, and respect into every therapeutic relationship. I believe that every part of who you are—your culture, identities, relationships, values, strengths, struggles, and lived experiences—deserves to be seen, heard, and understood. I’m deeply curious about each person’s unique story and the meaning they make of their experiences, and I see therapy as a collaborative process of exploring what feels authentic and meaningful for you.
As we work through your challenges together, I hope to provide a space where you feel safe, genuinely heard, and supported. We’ll cultivate deeper self-understanding while also developing practical skills and strategies that help you navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence. Therapy is both an inward journey of self-discovery and an outward process of creating meaningful, lasting changes in your daily life and relationships.
“Each man had only one genuine vocation—to find the way to himself.”
—Hermann Hesse, Demian
